In-Office or Take-Home Teeth Whitening

It's no secret that teeth can lose their white gleam over time. This happens to everyone, although drinking coffee, tea, or soda and smoking can definitely speed the process up. Although normal darkening of the teeth isn't itself a health risk, it's understandable why most people want to keep their teeth as white as possible. It makes the smile look brighter and more radiant, which translates into confidence.

Dr. Bogan is happy to offer teeth whitening to patients who want to make their smiles a little bit brighter. He offers two different options for patients.

Opalescence Boost is a painless procedure that takes about an hour. Dr. Bogan will apply a gel to your teeth and let it do its magic. Then he'll rinse your mouth and you'll be ready to go with a beautiful white smile. If you've had your teeth whitened before you may notice we don't use the teeth whitening light many other dentists use. This is because studies as well as our experience show it causes unnecessary sensitivity without adding much to the whitening process.

Take Home Teeth Whitening Trays are also available for patients who prefer to have their teeth whitened with lower concentrations of peroxide over a longer period of time. First we'll create custom-fitting trays for your teeth. Over two weeks you'll wear these trays with whitening gel for four hours a day or overnight. Because these trays are low profile and molded to the shape of your teeth, most people won't even notice you're wearing them.

Of course teeth whitening is no substitute for regular dental cleanings. Cleanings not only help remove stains, they allow us to get at plaque and tartar build up you may not be able to reach by brushing or flossing. Regular periodontal cleanings are also important to keep your gums healthy.

Dr. Bogan is happy to sit down and talk about the benefits of each teeth whitening option with you. With either procedure, you'll need to come in occasionally for maintenance whitening to keep your smile as bright as possible. He also offer a variety of other cosmetic dentistry procedures.
